Why not only jewelers are selling gems during the holidays

The holidays are a good time to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends.  It's also a great time to shop for homes.  A well priced listing in an attractive neighborhood could have multiple offers in June and July, though that exact same listing could go generally unnoticed through the holiday season as home buyers focus on school plays, present buying and vacationing.

Case and point, the home at 824 Puuikena Drive in the gated community of Hawaii Loa Ridge.  It's priced at $1,895,000.  Anything priced under $2M on Hawaii Loa Ridge during the summer of 2017 was sure to fly off the market.  The home at 824 Puuikena Drive hit the market just before the holidays.  Although it has desirable features like a four-bedroom main house layout with an attached one-bedroom lower Ohana wing complete with wetbar, bathroom and separate entry, it has not yet attracted a buyer.  Come early January 2018, that could change in a flash.  Once 824 Puuikena is purchased, home buyers looking to be in the Hawaii Loa Ridge neighborhood could again be limited to options $2M and up.

If you were thinking about home shopping in 2018, spend some time on your favorite real estate website through the holidays looking at homes that have been on the market for 30 - 60 days.  There could be some hidden gems!
